WHY IS COACHING A GOOD IDEA?

Scientific studies show that coaching is a great investment. It increases life satisfaction and professional success and improves relationships.

The Journal of Positive Psychology found that coaching has positive effects on the outcomes of performance/skills, well-being, coping, work attitudes and goal-directed self-regulation.

Also, ongoing coaching is more effective than a one-time intervention. A study showed that while group training with managers increased their productivity by 22%, including a one-on-one, eight-week coaching session for the managers pushed up productivity by 88%.

“Deanna was my TA in my Career & Life Planning Seminar in Spring 2014. I also met with her regularly outside of class to discuss my post-graduation plans. As an instructor, she was engaging and well organized. Her lectures were informative and stimulated class discussion. She would also inject humor into her presentations, which kept certain (ahem, easily distracted) college students listening when perhaps they wouldn’t be otherwise. She was responsible for grading our weekly reflection journals. It was evident that she took time to read each one carefully and provided thorough and insightful feedback. As part of the requirements for our course, we had to meet with Deanna for a career counseling session. While I had met with other career counselors at Loyola before, I found Deanna to be the most helpful and relatable to me. I began meeting with her regularly for sessions and her guidance meant so much to me. She is an incredible listener and can easily detect cues, be it bodily or vocal. Coming in as a communications college senior, (i.e. person who has no idea what they want to do) she assisted me in finding a potential career path that met both my skills and my interests. She went above and beyond what other career counselors had done for me at Loyola; not only revising my resume, but wiping away my tears when I would feel so frustrated and overwhelmed with post-graduation fears. Every time I would leave her office, I felt instantly better because I left with an action plan in hand. I thought so highly of Deanna that my family gave my boyfriend a package of sessions with Deanna post-graduation. I look forward to continuing to work with Deanna and would highly recommend her company to anyone seeking career or any other guidance.”

Adam possesses that rare quality which every good facilitator needs...the ability to see past the surface level and get to deeper issues. That's where he really shines. There was something deeply cathartic about the space Adam allowed for healing to emerge. I felt moved by the naturalness of this breath. I feel that anyone would be touched by his care and integrity, and benefit greatly from the insights he offers. He is, first and foremost, a grounded and loving man.

I recommend Katalin Antal Panayotopoulos as a very good career coach. She works professionally, gets to know the candidate, creates a plan and uses tools. She has inside information about the HR market, particularly in CEE and therefore she is able to advice on how to actively search for a job and how to position yourself as a professional within the competitors when writing a CV, in social media or at interviews. All this new knowledge and new point of view will help definitely to build in the confidence to make the next step forward.

As long as I’ve known Maxwell, he is personable and easy to relate to as a person. He educated me about best practices, resume writings and strategies for personal development as an international student trying to adapt to the local culture. He constantly followed up on my progress and was very concern with my personal development. I am confident that Maxwell will continue to be very productive. He has my highest recommendation.

Lynne is one of the most talented coaches I have encountered in my career. Lynne is a talented professional, high energy, engages the room. Lynn motivates others to achieve their goals and helps direct the focus. During my five year tenure at Deloitte it was my distinct pleasure to be part of Lynne's audience and to support her outstanding coaching endeavors as well. As part of the audience, I left enriched. As part of her support team I listened as others provided feedback (to me) about their extraordinary experience with Lynne's classes. Lynne is a team player and a consummate professional. I highly recommend Lynne (but only) if you want to employ an outstanding professional.
I have been very happy to be a client of Nora. Nora is an intellectually and emotionally intelligent person who is able to draw on her diverse background and apply it to a coaching context. This is a unique combination that I have personally never seen in this field. During our discussions, I felt an immediate and personal connection with Nora. As our discussions continued, I also experienced a sense of "safe harbor" where I could state exactly what was on my mind whilst knowing there was no judgment, everything was in complete confidence and I was listened to and heard as I needed to be heard. My sessions with Nora gave me a number of things of which one was something I didn't even know I was missing. I was so focused on negative aspects about my physical and mental projection. She specifically highlighted the many strengths I have; not just generic strengths but actual strengths I possess that I can utilize in my everyday life. I cannot recommend Nora Paxton enough; Nora is a wonderful person who can help any man in similar circumstances to me.
