The Journal of Positive Psychology found that coaching has positive effects on the outcomes of performance/skills, well-being, coping, work attitudes and goal-directed self-regulation.

Also, ongoing coaching is more effective than a one-time intervention. A study showed that while group training with managers increased their productivity by 22%, including a one-on-one, eight-week coaching session for the managers pushed up productivity by 88%.

Increasing Alignment Between Strategy, Infrastructure, Behavior, and Culture

Those who are in high-ranking managerial or executive positions must work to help all aspects of their organization align properly. Anyone who is in a leadership role should do much more than give orders – they should bring together every aspect of the organization to create the best results for customers, clients, and employees.

Increasing alignment between strategy, infrastructure, behavior, and culture is a tough task. Good alignment means coordinating skills and initiatives with the current equipment an organization has. This could involve refining a strategy, overhauling equipment, or both in some cases.

Behavior and culture are also important to align. Team members should know how to conduct themselves in a manner compatible with company culture. It may also be necessary to create a culture of values than incentivizes good behavior.

Aligning all these important and diverse factors can be difficult without help. Coaches can be beneficial to organizations of all sizes in this regard. By analyzing the organization’s strengths and weaknesses, experts can provide insight into how to improve alignment between the organization’s most important assets.
