WHY IS COACHING A GOOD IDEA?

Scientific studies show that coaching is a great investment. It increases life satisfaction and professional success and improves relationships.

The Journal of Positive Psychology found that coaching has positive effects on the outcomes of performance/skills, well-being, coping, work attitudes and goal-directed self-regulation.

Also, ongoing coaching is more effective than a one-time intervention. A study showed that while group training with managers increased their productivity by 22%, including a one-on-one, eight-week coaching session for the managers pushed up productivity by 88%.

Managing Conflict with a Direct Report, Boss, Peer, or Board Members

Conflicts can derail even the most successful organization. They bog down teams and hinder progress, which is why management usually aims to resolve them quickly.

In a busy organization, conflicts can occur between anyone. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a member of the team on the lower level, or a high-ranking manager. Getting all disagreements resolved effectively is important for organizational unity and team cohesion.

Managing conflict with a direct report, boss, peer, or board members can be very stressful when we go at it alone. Enlisting the help of a professional coach can ensure the resolution is handled with professionalism and care.

It can be hard to work out conflicts when we’re involved in them, especially when the person on the other side of the disagreement is a management employee or member of the board.
