WHY IS COACHING A GOOD IDEA?

Scientific studies show that coaching is a great investment. It increases life satisfaction and professional success and improves relationships.

The Journal of Positive Psychology found that coaching has positive effects on the outcomes of performance/skills, well-being, coping, work attitudes and goal-directed self-regulation.

Also, ongoing coaching is more effective than a one-time intervention. A study showed that while group training with managers increased their productivity by 22%, including a one-on-one, eight-week coaching session for the managers pushed up productivity by 88%.

Working with Mitch helped me develop a new perspective at work and home life. He was a pleasure to work with due to his friendly and positive attitude. Mitch tailored his program to focus on areas where I needed and wanted improvement. His methods allowed me to think outside the conventional 'box' and he provided simple exercises where I learned to apply new techniques. I now find myself in a more calm, proactive, resourceful state of mind when solving issues and communicating with others. I would recommend Mitch for anyone wanting to gain a fresh perspective on how to proactively and productively manage time and tasks, and increase the development of new ideas. The benefits I have received from working with Mitch far exceed the initial investment.

Karah facilitated leadership training for my staff in two different organizations over the last four years. She facilitated two different sessions for fire officers in Vail, and two different sessions for executive staff and fire officers in Loveland, Co. The leadership training centered around development of, and understanding of, our personal core values, strengths, calling in life, and understanding and developing a purpose statement that incorporates all the aforementioned aspects. Karah has amazing insight in regards to leadership development, what drives leaders, and what it takes to live to your full potential as a leader and human being. She incorporates humor, as well as a depth and breadth of experience, including her own personnel leadership journey and challenges she has faced that have shaped her character. Karah is approachable, relatable, an encourager, mentor, and facilitates large or small groups with confidence and ease. My staff/employees loved Karah and we look forward to doing more leadership development with her in the future. I highly recommend Karah for leadership development, whether it be for you or your employees!

Neil Fisher Vice President - Executive Search, Accounting Finance and IT at Kingsley-Rose August 4, 2009, Lynne was senior to Neil but didn’t manage directly “Lynne single-handedly shifted the culture at Deloitte with an energy that could be felt before she entered the room. It is with undeniable confidence that I say…you and/or your organization will benefit immensely from a single interaction with Lynne.”
Working with Elena as my leadership coach was one of the best investments of time and energy I have ever made. Whatever situation I brought to our sessions, Elena skillfully and thoughtfully asked just the right questions to help me gain clarity and insight into how to approach problems, make decisions and determine what best to do next. In helping me think more deeply about my role and my approach to leadership, Elena enabled me to deepen my strategic agility and be more effective in driving the business through my work. Elena constantly amazed me with her deep thinking, and her intuitive ability to guide me to the heart of the matter. I would recommend Elena wholeheartedly to anyone who wanted to deepen their leadership skills and take their work and their life to a new level.

Elysia brings her authentic, fun, yet profound way of being to every interaction. In the competitive, fast-paced and high-stress world of retail, leaders can often sacrifice their own wellbeing as they strive to balance the needs of self, business and team. This is the challenge we were looking to solve when we invited Elysia to work with our senior store leaders. Elysia used her inspiring personal life story and profound experience as a mindfulness coach and practitioner to make a big impact and leave a lasting impression on our teams. In fact, we’ve brought Elysia back several times to go deeper with store leaders and work with leaders at our corporate office as well. Her sessions are always enlightening and inspirational, but also extremely accessible and practical. If you’re looking for a speaker, workshop leader or coach that is not a “business as usual” kind of facilitator or consultant, but someone who can connect with your team on a more profound level, then Elysia my be a perfect fit!

Reducing Intergenerational Conflict in Working Styles, Pacing, and Norms

Great workers are present in all age groups. In addition, all groups have their advantages when it comes to things like their approach to getting the job done.

While age doesn’t necessarily play a role in determining whether a person is a good fit for a position, different age groups on a team can sometimes create conflicts. A person’s style of work, the speed at which they complete their tasks, and the manner in which they conduct themselves at work may all be affected by age.

Older workers may value certain norms and practices they adopted from earlier in their careers. Since younger workers may not have encountered the same influences, this can lead to disagreements. Likewise, the pace of younger workers can sometimes be greatly different than that of older workers, which can also lead to disagreements.

Reducing intergenerational conflict in working styles, pacing, and norms is vital for getting the most out of a team where multiple age groups are represented. Helping workers understand one another, cooperate successfully, and avoid conflicts would be much easier with the help of a professional coach.

Coaches understand how a person’s age can affect their work performance and attitude. They can help leaders ensure all workers feel valued and important to the team, regardless of their age.

This in turn helps all team members get along better and produce better results for the organization.
