“I was extremely fortunate to have been afforded the opportunity to utilize the Holistic Career Coaching services of Deanna Cowling over the past few months. My experience working with Deanna has been nothing short of amazing. Deanna is undoubtedly one the most engaged, skilled, competent, and caring professionals I know.
When I first became acquainted with Deanna, I was in a very dark place, both professionally and personally. I was in a dead end job, my occupational future appeared to be very bleak, and I was not in a very good place emotionally. My morale was shaken due to my career woes, and there was little motivation present within me. But Deanna did something in our initial session that instantaneously began the transformation of my depleted confidence. She asked me what challenges I was facing and how could she help me…then…she listened and provided me with the motivation I needed to get active in my job search.
After reviving my buoyancy, she gave me the tools to make myself more marketable and professionally appealing to potential employers. Deanna also taught me how to organize myself during my quest for better employment by making a detailed list of the jobs I wanted by order of interest and my rationale for applying. I was taught effective networking tactics utilizing LinkedIn. One of which included connecting with those who are in the line of business or organization I desire to enter. So simple, but so effective! Most importantly, she encouraged me to bring my military skills and expertise to the forefront of my resume by simply recalling and listing the various skills and training I acquired throughout my military tenure, then to translate that information to be captured with a more corporate flow. Since working with Deanna I have found better employment within my current organization with a healthy increase in pay and the opportunity for progression.
I highly encourage all transitioning military servicemembers and veterans alike, to enlist the services of Deanna Cowling as a career coach. I can honestly say with the utmost confidence, you will not find an individual who has a greater ability or passion for helping those who have served, but are now in need of service.‘
