Client Reviews for Deanna Cowling

“Working with Deanna was by far the BEST thing I could have done to take my career to the next level. Her in depth knowledge and insight about everything under the sun, made me realize possibilities about my career I didn't even know existed. Deanna's assured guidance, constant cheerfulness, and genuine care make her such a pleasure to work with. As I've told her before, there is only 1 but EVERYBODY needs a Deanna Cowling, Lifestyle Guru!”
― Shauntee J.
“Deanna has been an invaluable resource for my employment search. Not only did she give me job suggestions tailored specifically to my personality, but she was persistent in her encouragement at times when I was skeptical. With the help of Deanna I was able to reach my job goals and couldn't be more pleased with the experience of working with her.”
― Ryan S.
“I was so thankful to have met Deanna during my senior year at Loyola. She is an incredibly intelligent individual and is always willing to help guide students through whatever situation they might be dealing with. She helped me to channel my interests and discover tangible career paths and I am now pursuing a career in something I am genuinely passionate about.“
― Julie S.
“Deanna was an excellent mentor for myself and others in our CPSY class at Loyola University Chicago. She was very knowledgeable on all the subject matter she lectured on and always gave insightful feedback on class journal entries.”
― Laura S.
“Deanna was my TA in my Career & Life Planning Seminar in Spring 2014. I also met with her regularly outside of class to discuss my post-graduation plans. As an instructor, she was engaging and well organized. Her lectures were informative and stimulated class discussion. She would also inject humor into her presentations, which kept certain (ahem, easily distracted) college students listening when perhaps they wouldn’t be otherwise. She was responsible for grading our weekly reflection journals. It was evident that she took time to read each one carefully and provided thorough and insightful feedback. As part of the requirements for our course, we had to meet with Deanna for a career counseling session. While I had met with other career counselors at Loyola before, I found Deanna to be the most helpful and relatable to me. I began meeting with her regularly for sessions and her guidance meant so much to me. She is an incredible listener and can easily detect cues, be it bodily or vocal. Coming in as a communications college senior, (i.e. person who has no idea what they want to do) she assisted me in finding a potential career path that met both my skills and my interests. She went above and beyond what other career counselors had done for me at Loyola; not only revising my resume, but wiping away my tears when I would feel so frustrated and overwhelmed with post-graduation fears. Every time I would leave her office, I felt instantly better because I left with an action plan in hand. I thought so highly of Deanna that my family gave my boyfriend a package of sessions with Deanna post-graduation. I look forward to continuing to work with Deanna and would highly recommend her company to anyone seeking career or any other guidance.”

“Deanna and I worked together during her tenure as a grad assistant. She proved herself to be a driven colleague with the ability to add value to any project I had the pleasure of working with her on. She is smart, capable, and a skilled presenter. Importantly, she's always willing to help wherever she can. That's a quality that goes a long way in my view.”
― Martin G.
“Deanna brings a high level of professionalism to any task that is presented to her. It was a pleasure being her colleague during graduate school and it was also a pleasure to work with her on the 2013 DePaul Poster Conference. Deanna was a part of our logistics committee and she reached out to 100+ jurors for the poster conference. Her display of professional recruiting led to a successful poster conference, an outcome that couldn't have occurred without her superior skills of recruiting and customer service. Deanna has the skills, passion, multicultural background, and non-judgmental mindset to become a successful counselor. I'm very confident Deanna will make a positive impact with those individuals who seek her as a career and life coach.”
― Phil D.
“Deanna is very insightful, bright and a self starter whom I was honored to work with at DePaul.”
― Kristina L.
“Deanna is incredibly creative, knowledgeable and helpful. She is very informative about many aspects in the work industry and has helped me, as a student, to manage and organize steps to achieving my future goals and aspirations. Deanna is a very positive lady and was a great asset in helping me with career planning.”
― Shaday H.
“My greatest concern with accepting assistance via an online connection with a life coach was trust. As with all social media, there is a sense of concern for scams and individuals poses as helpers. This was not the case with Deanna; I am so very grateful for the services provided. My favorite part of coaching is feedback; we have all conversed with friends and dialogue with colleagues only to have one way conversations. With Deanna, she has an innate talent of repeating your information along with providing insight and suggestions that are relevant and useful. The benefits of working with MAC would be life planning and employment management as it relates to your goals and aspirations. I would recommend Deanna’s services wholeheartedly as they are invaluable to your success.”

“I was extremely fortunate to have been afforded the opportunity to utilize the Holistic Career Coaching services of Deanna Cowling over the past few months. My experience working with Deanna has been nothing short of amazing. Deanna is undoubtedly one the most engaged, skilled, competent, and caring professionals I know. When I first became acquainted with Deanna, I was in a very dark place, both professionally and personally. I was in a dead end job, my occupational future appeared to be very bleak, and I was not in a very good place emotionally. My morale was shaken due to my career woes, and there was little motivation present within me. But Deanna did something in our initial session that instantaneously began the transformation of my depleted confidence. She asked me what challenges I was facing and how could she help me…then…she listened and provided me with the motivation I needed to get active in my job search. After reviving my buoyancy, she gave me the tools to make myself more marketable and professionally appealing to potential employers. Deanna also taught me how to organize myself during my quest for better employment by making a detailed list of the jobs I wanted by order of interest and my rationale for applying. I was taught effective networking tactics utilizing LinkedIn. One of which included connecting with those who are in the line of business or organization I desire to enter. So simple, but so effective! Most importantly, she encouraged me to bring my military skills and expertise to the forefront of my resume by simply recalling and listing the various skills and training I acquired throughout my military tenure, then to translate that information to be captured with a more corporate flow. Since working with Deanna I have found better employment within my current organization with a healthy increase in pay and the opportunity for progression. I highly encourage all transitioning military servicemembers and veterans alike, to enlist the services of Deanna Cowling as a career coach. I can honestly say with the utmost confidence, you will not find an individual who has a greater ability or passion for helping those who have served, but are now in need of service.‘
― Martin B.
“Working with Deanna was both a pleasure and a joy. She is a tremendously talented career coach who helped me figure out which career path was best for me at my current job, how to successfully network with the right people, and even coached me on how to properly conduct phone conversations with important key people. She is very personable and easy to talk to. Plus, I can tell that she enjoys helping people navigate through their tough career and life situations. She really cares about you and helping you make the right choices to improve your life. It truly makes all the difference to have the help of someone who commits herself to helping you make your life better. I recommend Deanna wholeheartedly to anyone who is facing career difficulties and is in need of some type of guidance. You definitely will not regret it!‘
― Paul T.
‘Deanna’s willingness, expertise, passion, and immense desire to help veterans in the Military Appreciation Coaching program is evident from the very first correspondence. She spent countless hours with me, coaching, advising, teaching, and ensuring that I was extremely prepared for interviews, professional career engagements, and elevator speeches. Deanna continually challenged me. As a result, I was forced outside my comfort zone, and grew exponentially. I highly recommend her, as a coach, for job and career seekers, that want to improve their professional profile.“
― Brian D.
