About Coach Natasha Schultz

I am a teacher, mom, wife, surfer, and gardener. I am passionate about travel and working with youth, and was lucky to combine both in my career. I grew up in Hawaii and now live in New Zealand. If you are looking for support meeting your academic and/or personal goals, I am excited to meet you!

I taught high school science, social studies, and ESL for a total of 6 years. I also ran study abroad programs for 12 years, which led to developing a leadership program for high school students in Hawaii. Students made huge breakthroughs by operating out of their comfort zones, reflecting on their experiences, and making connections with their peers and communities. I facilitated and supported students through this process of self-discovery and empowerment. I help students articulate and take steps toward their goals and dreams. I graduated at the top of my high school class, having taken 5 AP courses (scoring one 4 and three 5s on my AP exams, missing one exam due to illness). I graduated magna cum laude from Lewis & Clark College as a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi honors societies. I love sharing systems and tools to help students improve their performance in school. Although I have always excelled in school, I was a painfully shy and insecure child with few friends. It took significant time and effort to break out of my shell and feel comfortable in my own skin- a work in progress, I must confess. It has been a difficult and (sometimes ugly) process, but I know I have made excellent strides because of the results I have in my life, which are beyond what I could have ever imagined in my youth.

Client Reviews for Natasha Schultz

Natasha has been one of the strongest support systems that I have had. She has consistently pushed me to excel in everything I do, and has always supported me to push farther than what I thought I was capable of. Being raised on Lana'i since birth, I was always made to believe that my secluded upbringing would be a limitation, not an asset. However, my engagement with Natasha allowed me to see past Lana'i, Hawaii, and the United States. She has supported me every step of the way, from my graduation from Lanai High and Elementary School and my initial enrollment in universities across the world in England, Egypt, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates. Having traveled extensively, she has always given me advice on where my next travel destination would be, and I always make an effort to meet with her while I am in Hawaii. I have now been to more than 30 countries across the world, and this is a true testament to Natasha's support, guidance, and genuine care. She is not only an excellent educator, but also someone who is able to identify talent and promise in students and further develop them into future leaders. I know that I have been able to speak to her on occasions where I felt apprehensive about my educational plans, or when I needed help applying for scholarships for college. I can truly say that without her guidance and support over the past 7 years, I would not be in the position that I am today.

I had no idea this would open so many doors for me. I've loved talking to you, thank you for listening to me talk about the chaos that is life. Thank you for being my cheerleader and for unintentionally setting an example of all the amazing things women can do.

Coming from Kalihi, it was instilled into me by my parents, both of whom are struggling cashier and room attendants, to reach for the stars. As you know, my career goals are not far from what they asked. Thanks to your generosity, support, and confidence in me, you reaffirm that my dreams are possible.

The work you do with our students is fabulous! Your connection and your understanding of their mindset and situation are key to your great ability to lead and teach them. Not only are they learning about collaboration and social discourse and constructive interactions with others, they are enjoying it. You are a role model and someone they can emulate because of your good intent and great style. Thank you so much for working with our young men and women. You take care of them and you care about them--- truly, you do what we educators know is the heart of this business.
